in the process of building my 67 street car,its been with me since 82 and tortured but i finnaly got smart and gonna do it right.shes gonna get a 455 beast to make her go:
well from what i have researched it was made in july of 67,a non a/c car with the 400 option.it may have been a HO car as it came with the 670 heads.it had the gold deluxe interior with the column shift th400 and bench seat, and had a custom ordered Q-Q color (veduro green). Now ive had her for along time and turtured her when i was young and sold off alot of the parts that made her special.i know,i know i wasnt very smart or educated and made some dumb moves. the cost of restoration is way to high for my income so i decided to make it a street car.here is the motor im building:
carb: holley 800cfm double pump
intake: original torker with water crossover cut off ported and polished
heads: 670 ported and polished 72cc with competition product spring and ferra valves with comp cam 1:65 roller tip rockers
push rods: comp cam brand
cam: comp cam xe284 with lifters
timing: cloyes tru roller
block: 73 455 "YY" code.... bore .030
pistons: seal power .030 forged flattop
rings and bearings : total seal file fit plasma rings with clevite bearings
rods: tomahawk 5140 rods with arp bolts
crank: original 73 .....turn size 10/10
oil pump:mellings m54ds
oil pan: stock
valve covers : chrome tall replacements
distributor : TSP 50,000 volt heady duty HEI with polished aluminum shaft
ignition system: MSD 6AL box
wireset : Taylor 8mm blue Spiro Pro
headers: Headman 4 tube with 1&3/4 openings....running the american thunder mandrel bent 2&1/2" exhaust with crossover and flowmaster mufflers
gonna be paired back up with th400,3000 stall going into a ford 9" with 4.11 gears. i blew up the original 10 bolt years ago and traded it and the factory ladder bar for the 9".yeah i know another goof ball move. sorry to be long winded but that it in a nut shell.
72cc heads on a 455?? Have you checked to see what the comp ratio is going to be? I hope you live close to an airport. Sounds like it's going to pass anything but a gas station.
Yup your going to need pistons with a 14+ CC dish to run pump gas. Even with a 14 CC dish with my 16 heads i have 9.8:1 on my 455, ill be mixing some race gas to be safe.
might consider the e85 route but we will see: motor update

ok heres an update...engine and trans in with headers, lines and hoses...little bit of electrical to go and i can start her....then the exhaust, wiring harness, drive shaft, caltracs, rear brakes and gears, gas tank....etc
So the interior should of looked like this.. just swap the black color for gold..
