Q sent me some sweet Hedman headers last week, to replace the Schlitz Beer can aluminum set I got off Ebay the previous month. Thanks Q for always offering superb parts to us all. Yours weigh three times what the beer-can aluminum version weighs, plus they don't crush when you squeeze them like the previous pair off Ebay did!
I would like to paint them (or plate them) silver if possible, but have had bad luck in the past painting headers. They tend to peel like a sunburned albino, so is there a good silver paint out there for headers or is this just asking too much? Is chrome plating an option? I just want them to look as pretty as the engine does, you know?

Nash, I used a set of Heddman's a few years back, they are a very nice fitting header. Be sure to use the oil filter adapter to re-locate the filter to make it easier to do an oil change. I can send you pics of the set-up on my '68 from when I had my car on the road if interested.
Steve, I'd be very interested in the pics if you get a chance. I'll search around for local folks that do powder coat and ceramic, see what the going rate is here in Tennessee.

I hope no one was mislead by the pics I posted in my earlier post. Those are just some pics I found at http://www.acmepowdercoating.com/ ....they are not mine. They do look good though don't ya think
great pics, regardless of who's they were. A local guy today told me he'd do them for 80 bucks, including blasting off the original black Hedman paint first. But, I was told to check out the ceramic or Jet-Coat if I was really concerned more about heat than looks.
........I AM concerned more about the heat, trust me friends! In the summer, I lose 5-6 pounds every time I take her out for a ride as it is!

Regardless of what the advertisements say, I don't think there is a header paint in the world that will stick to those hot headers. Black powdercoat will net you a couple of more ponies than silver coating - seriously.
