I'm trying to remove the ball joints in the lower control arms. The control arms aren't on the vehicle. How do these come out? What would you recommend to remove them?
I got a local suspension shop to press out all my ball joints and bushings for free with the stipulation that I bring it back for the alignment.
Of course, they winked because they know I don't HAVE to do that.

Just this afternoon I took one of mine out. I removed the lower arm and put the very end of the arm on my anvil and struck straight down on the shaft coming out of the joint quite smartly about three or four times and out she came. Now if I can just figure out how to press the bushings out...
GJ, it may help to heat the A-arm around the lip with a torch...mine were off the car and I couldnt get them to budge with a ball joint press, but once I applied a little heat, they came right out. Charlie (keeper of the flame)
A more radical and expensive path is get new control arms off e-bay from Tamraz. For about $160 each you get new lower control arms with ball joints and bushings installed. You only have to drill holes for the bump stop. (just a thought)
