Hey guys. I just bought a very rough 1968 Firebird coupe from original owner. It's been sitting in a barn since 1981. Only (significant) rust is in floors and a little in the rear window channel. All the interior/exterior colors and accessories match the fisher tag...but It also has a "yw" motor with original 7028264 xe carb. Could it be a real HO car??? No aftermarket parts anywhere. What do you think?
Blasphemy! These are the ones you restore, keep, and cherish the rest of your life.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! HEMI is amazing! 1998 Silverado Z71 - Father-daughter project 1968 400 coupe - R/A clone (Blue Pearl) (sold) 1967 326 convertible - Sold 1980 T/A SE Bandit - Sold
I had a bad feeling I would get that responce. I really want to keep it, but it could really help me out, financially. I have a '68 350 numbers matching car too that I may sell to finance this one's restoration.
This car IS on Ebay now. It is similar to my 68 Mayfair 400HO but mine has AC, Disc, PW, Deluxe Parchment and White Vinyl top. Mine is a little more solid and was taken off the road just as someone was putting the 80's shame on her (goofy gas pedal, coat of grey primer, weird shift knob and 15" Rally wheels) I may be selling mine soon too, but will wait for a Kevin's auction to end. Like mine it is a hood tach/rally gauge car I see!
1969 Firebird 350 Coupe, Rust free Texas body, formerly brown, now a TA clone with quality spoiler, latching hood and TA wheel; 1969 GTO Convertible Expresso Brown/Parchment(currently painted red). Both numbers matching. My first love was a Cameo White 67 326 Coupe, bought back in 1983, at the age of 17, for $1,200. Been hooked since on PONTIAC! Working on a 67 400 ragtop for customization-Gulf Turquoise/Parchment/400/4 spd! My winter project!
I seen the car on ebay this morning. I seriously pondering going after this car. Closing on my house the 25th of this month. Only problem is I only have room for 2 cars... But my dad does have a spot in his garage.... So watch out bidders!!!!
I've only had one bid so far, and it's still a little ways from my reserve. If it doesn't sell I may sell the red one to finance this one's restoration.
