I am restoring my wheels on my 68. I have looked at Eastwood, Duplicolor and OER paints. Does anyone have any comments or have used any of these. I want to get as accurate as possible.
If you are talking about Ralley II wheels, good luck. I have been at shows and seen five different colors of the gray and five different owners saying that theirs is the right one and the reasons why. Having said that when I did mine I used Dupli-Color HWP101 Silver (the silver is really a pretty easy match) and the Dupli-Color HWP102 Graphite for the grey. I am very happy with the relults. A few years back I ordered "Ralley II Wheel Paint" from one of the bigger suppliers of our hobby thinking that I would be getting the real thing. The paint came with a disclaimer stating that the charcoal paint they sold was darker than the original wheel color. They were right.
Here's an old thread from 2007 on the subject that might help.
Like Hank says, the "correct" color shade of the charcoal is debated, as you will see. I suspect there were multiple correct shades used. It just goes along with many things that vary with these cars, even within a model year.
Once I had studied all the information and settled on the charcoal color I'd use on a set of wheels I picked up, I found that the masking kit was a bigger issue if you want clean paint lines. The mask was a good start but a whole lot of extra tape masking and X-Acto blade work was needed.
That link to the old discussion tells of the paint I used. The reverse side had already been painted by the guy I bought the wheels from and it looked good. I used the PY (Performance Years) paint for the silver and had the charcoal custom mixed to the color codes mentioned in the FAQs on another part of the 1st Gen site. I have not yet run the wheels on the car so I don't know how they will hold up to use, cleaning, and waxing. They look fine after 4 years of sitting in the basement and now the garage.
I used the complete kit from Eastwoods. As I was already using incorrect 15 inch Rally II's, so exact 1000 point show grade colors were not a big deal for me.
They sure look good and having the paint and stencils all in one package was nice.

I bought a stencil kit and rattle cans from NPD in the idea I was going to restore a set. Ended up buying a complete set. If you are interested I'll let them go cheap.
Here is a link to a page i did with the steps for restoring rally II's if that might help you. I used the pants and stencil kit that was available from eastwood and it worked great. http://www3.telus.net/68bird/wheel_restore.htm
Actually looks like they are the OER brand paints from Classic. I have 4 cans: 2 grey (back of the wheels), 1 silver and one charcoal. Also have a 14" masking kit from Classic. Let them all go $30.00 plus shipping.
