i am thinking of using 15x7 rally 2 on my 69 vert.the car originaly came with 14x7 but they are hard to find.can anybody tell me if they will fit and not rub on the fenders or if there are any other issues to consider. thanks
After researching this one to death I bought 15x8 rally IIs from Summit. By the time I added up the cost of getting rims, then painting them plus add up my time to do it and the fact the summit rally II are wider and powder coated it was a no brainer. Your 14x7 would be a 70 seris tire and the 15x7 would be a 60 series tier and they should be the same hight if they are changed out for the same width. They say on this site don't go any wider then a 235 on the front and you should be good to go.
Piece of cake. Look for 15 inchers off of 2nd Gen Firebirds and '70's GTO's with the 4-3/4 bolt pattern and 4.5 inch backspacing. Wheels off of "big" Pontiacs won't fit your wheel studs.
235/60-15 inch tires will give you a combination that is about the same diameter as the stock 14 inch wheel/tire combos without being wide enough to rub on anything. They fill the fenders well and will clear aftermarket disc brake conversions.
If you do research here and don't mind having different tire sizes front to rear, you can go bigger on the rear tires.

I wouldn't go much bigger than a 255/60/15. That also puts the wheel diameter @ 28". i have them on the rear of mine with 15" rally IIs. But my rear springs are a little high and stiff too. http://www.spkorb.org/Pages/fbirdImage0.html
I'm still planning on putting a 50(P255/50/15) series on the back and a 60(P235/60/15) series on the front. You can go to many of the tire websites and get dimensions of the tires and find a wide 50 siries that is the same height as a smaller 60 series.
