I'm getting insurance for my 68 Standard Firebird. Inline 6, numbers matching, strait body with good paint, minor rusting rear quarters and moderate in trunk, 2 speed automatic. Paint is Meridian Turquoise and it is a coupe. I live in Washington State and was wondering what I should insure it for..or what do you think its value is? I've owned this car for 22 years. Im the 3rd owner, the first two are relatives that took good care of it. Again, I'm not selling it, but if I could get a ballpark of what it is worth for insurance reasons, I'd be very grateful.
12k-15k. Maybe a bit more or less depending on overall condition. Picts would help...

In that order. I have 3 cars insured through Heacock all above $10K agreed value and it's only just over $300 a year. Haven't had any type of claim yet, but I'm happy with them and they were easy to work with.
The majority will require it be in a secure garage etc...
Where here in WA are you? I'm in Federal Way. Were having a cruise the the http://www.lemaymarymount.org/ on Sunday where we have 5 of the Western Washington Firebirds on display in the car club corner. (My 67 drop top is representing the first gens)
Let me know if you need any more info and I'll try to help!
I would look at it this way. If it got totaled what would it cost you to replace like for like, or even upgrade. For 15K you can find a pretty nice bird coupe.
