Very nice work. What paint did you use? Brush, or airbrush?

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

Yes I painted it in place...I used cans of spray paint and removed whatever could be removed and detailed them then after I painted the block, I reinstalled everything.

Very nice, I did the same. Took off what I could and masked the rest. Didn't do the lower half.

I have one question. Do you have your heater core bypassed?

Yes it is, I think that was done back around 1980.

Looks great! I learned a great trick from my best friend who owns several Pontiacs and the engines always look perfect. I never knew how he did until one day I happened to pop in on him just before a big Pontiac show here in Orlando.

Airbrush!

Yeap, the guy fills his little tank up with Hirsh paint and hits the entire engine in the matter of minutes with an airbrush every once in awhile and it keeps the thing looking PERFECT all the time! I couldn't believe it! LOL

I'm curious. I always see the Pontiac with their engines painted that bright colour. Is this colour just on the 400's or is that just the closest match to original out there?

The blue on my 350 looks to be quite a bit different.

metallic blue, years blue 66-72 , other blues , before and after...the blue on yours indicates someone painted it wrong color or the engine year is not matching the car year...
