Hey guys, I have a question for you. I have a 67 400 4sp, and ever since I have owned it (20+ years now) the clutch pedal has always sat down lower (toward the firewall) than the brake pedal. the other day I was looking at it, and I tried adjusting the linkage rod that goes between the clutch fork and pedal linkage, and it was already at maximum adjustment (no threads left to keep turning the adjuster). Also, when I begin to let the clutch pedal out, the clutch starts to engage right off of the floor instead of 1 to 2 inches off the floor. It has been like this for as long as I can recall, but I am now starting to go through things and address small drivability issues, and this is one of them as it seems like the pedal is resting on the throughout bearing and I do not want it to prematurely wear out. Is there supposed to be a spring up under the dash to keep the pedal pulled up even with the brake pedal? I can pull it up with my foot, but when I let go it falls back down the 2 or 3 inches. I replaced the spring and rod at the clutch fork to frame bracket area, but the pedal is still sagging. It drives fine other than the saggy pedal. Any ideas? Thanks!!

had that problem years ago. i discovered that the hole in the peddel arm and swing arm near the block were elongated also the shafts that went into the arms(both) inside the car and down near the block were worn out. i filled them in and redrilled them out and it is dead on and works great.

Thanks for that, everything is original on the car so I would not doubt it is well worn. I'll be looking at that linkage in the am....
