I got my 67 back on the road recently after way too many years apart and am getting ready to have new upholstery installed. Over the past few years I bought new seat foam and seat covers when funds allowed. After driving it again, I am considering changing out my non-headrest seats for ones with headrests. I have a chance to pick up seats from a 69 Camaro for relatively cheap money. Can I use my seat foam and covers from the 67 on the 69 seats and just buy headrest covers or do I need to pop for new foam and covers specifically for a 69? Thanks
the only difference in 69 is the back foam had the springs molded into the foam. so you will have to take your 67 spring backs , just the springs and put them on 69 frames. Im assuming you have a STD interior. if so everthing should work fine with what you have. Its very easy to move the springs over to 69 frames. 67 to 69 std seat foam bottoms are the same, ditto for 68 and 69 deluxe. so you will have to use your old spring backs , unless your lucky enoungh to find 69 bun backs with the springs molded in. I havent been able to find any. called all the manufactures , they all said nope just use the 68 spring backs and it will work fine. So in short everything should work fine for you.
