I fixed a 75 or 76 pacer back in the day, that ran fine all day . unless th owner drove up one steep hill.turned out the float was sticking. other than that it ran fine.. LOL
I found out the fuel line from the pump to the carb was located around the PS pump and Alternator, mine was located between the PS pump and alt. next to the water pump, tying onto the Alt. support. I relocated the fuel line and I also checked the carb floats, both were adjusted wrong, idle mixture screws were also pitted badly. Next I'm gonna clean out the radiator and flush the coolant, put a fresh new Tstat in and go from there. Also adjusted the Lifters, they're set with poly-loks, found too much play between the push rods and valve stems.
When going to a vapor return line config, what parts are needed? There was the earlier link to a 69 Camaro fuel sending unit w/vapor return. Obviously I need a return line as well.
Do I need a different fuel pump? Do I return the vapor from a port somewhere on my carb or change my fuel line at the carb?

OEM return line is a 1/4 line that parallels the main fuel line from tank (fuel sender) to fuel pump only.
Still only 1 fuel line from the pump to the carb.

I also dropped the tank to check the sending unit sock, I had to replace the sending unit,my sending unit wouldn't register the fuel level. I used a 68 sending unit with a return line, I capped it off,for future if needed, also while there replaced the wire hareness to the sending unit. Check out the tank for flakeing inside and dirt, I blew out the line to the pump, installed a filter from a 90 ford explorer just before the pump. I checked the Carburetor pulled the air horn, on the needle and seat there is suppose to be a clip that tie the needle to the float it was missing, I'm running a Carter AFB, several Carb shop instructed me to install it, they were telling me the needle can get stuck and starve the engine, I never knew this and any instructions for the rebuild kits do not show this, but it's included in the rebuild kit. It seems to solve one issue no power and stalling out. As far as the overly high temps, It's a Pontiac, it's gonna run at around 200, mine has been staying lower since I replaced the water pump with a new one not a rebuilt one and made sure the back plates have as tight of a clearance as I could get it. I also found 2 Vacuum leaks, both were at the 2 manifold vacuum fittings for the PCV, they were not the proper sized threads, too small. I have seen found the proper sized and installed. So far so good, Will be driving it this week a lot to test it out.
