I have a 67 firebird with AC and bought the clear plate for it, can anyone tell me how to take the little knobs off of the levers without breaking them?

its almost impossible but , it can be done, i used a taped up pair of needle nose pliers. gently rock and lift from under them at the same time. i bought new ones , so if you break yours i have extras.
Oh i just saw yours is a 67 im not sure my 69 knobs will fit. i'll look.

That's a good point about the knobs, they are cheap anyway, I just wanted to see if I could finesse them off somehow and will try the needle nose with some tape-

Mine came off pretty easy actually.

mine were a little stubborn, so I took a pair of nippers and gave them a quick and painless death to spare the assembly from undue harm

That works too!
