Hello, i noticed the other day when the engine was idling with the hood up, the inline fuel filter (the one that has a glass barrel and filter in it) wasn't full of fuel. Even when we revvd the engine up it still didn't fill up. i thought the fuel pump would keep that thing full of fuel so that when you step on the gas pedal, it has enough fuel to support the carb. is this normal or do i have a bad pump ? Its a 400 with mild mods, new fuel tank, sending unit, lines. pump is older. thanks for any info you can provide, also, the engine seemed to be running ok, but i wasnt hammering the pedal.
When I had a see thru filter (got rid of it b/c of possible fire problems if it cracks)and car got warmed up...my filter seemed to stay empty...looked like it ran on fumes... but its normal.
