I read somewhere that the 1967s had metal seatbacks whereas the 1968s went to plastic. Is that true? I'm asking because I noticed mine (1967) were plastic. Anyone know for sure. I searched FAQ, couldn't find any info.
I have seen that mentioned a few times as well. But I have never seen metal ones on a '67 car myself.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Between me and 2 of my friends, we bought 4 '67 convertibles back in the '80~81 timeframe; all appeared to have original "deluxe" interiors and all had plastic seatbacks.
This may be another Camaro crossover quandary. The '67 Camaro had metal seatbacks. I don't know if they all did, or only certain options had them. The Camaro seatbacks were changed to plastic some time around April/May of 67.
Thank you all. I had also thought the same but saw this note and it had me puzzled. Funny thing is I seem to remember my dads 68 Camaro had steel ones and my original 67 Firebird (and this one) had plastic.
