Guys- The 69 is going back together after a couple of years. I was looking at the upper channel piece that the side windows roll up into. it holds the upper window gasket and mounts below the drip edge. Sorry i know I don't have the correct name for the part. anyway there is sealant/caulk/weather strip residue on the top of this piece so I know I need to seal it. please tell me the correct sealant material for this application. Follow the link for a pic. I am holding the part a couple inches off the the roof so as not to scratch the paint. Thanks
It's called dum-dum. The slang name is strip caulk.
An excellent alternative for less than 1/10th the cost is vent pipe putty. You can find it at wallyworld-type hardware stores. It's in the ductwork area, and it comes in a block.
