I am looking for a heat shield (preheater shroud) for my 68 350 HO 4 bbl. I cannot tell by my research if this is the same one that the non HO cars use. However, I sent an email to the Ames tech department and they said that the one listed on their website (FN406C) will only work with nonHO engines manifolds and not the HO which leads me to believe that there may be different types of heat shields. Anyone know what is the the correct heat shield for my car?
You have the standard log manifolds, the long branch manifolds look like a cast iron header. Yours should be easier to find, not sure if they used the same preheater shroud on both styles. Vikki?
I'm not sure if you ever cleared this up, but I have a 1968 350 HO car. I have pictures of mine, but I have a manual trans car. It looks like you possibly have the automatic car, I see what looks like a power steering hose in your picture. My car has manual steering and I'm not sure if that would have a different shroud. I can post pictures if you like.
