Do you think it is worth the extra money to buy a glass rear window when replacing the convertible top? For originality sake, does it make it worth it?
Not if the top is down 98% of the time like most of us. I don't believe folding glass was an option for fgf's back then.

I put in a zipper down plastic window. Although my top is down most of the time, when it's really hot out is is nice for letting tons of air through while keeping the sun off.
Speaking of the plastic windows in the tops, when they get old they start to yellow and are hard to see thru. Is there any way to clean them up so they're clear again? Everyone I've talked to says there's no way to get them clear again.
I doubt you can get them clear again. Some light scratches can be removed, but not once they yellow.

Bob, do you have a link for this zipper window? I am about to replace my top and this would do well in the beating South Carolina sun!
If you go with plastic I think there is a certain procedure when you lower the top. I also used to place a nice soft bath towel around the plastic when it is lowered to help keep the scratches down. Barry
