My name is Will. Im working on a 1967 firebird convertible for a friend. Long story short, Im helping a friend put together this firebird for a customer of his.
She brought him a freshly painted stripped down 67 firebird and a whole bunch of new parts. We didnt remove anything so we are literally trying to put a puzzle together without a picture. Apparently her body shop guy went to prison, or died so we cant ask him how it came apart.
I bought the fisher body manual but its pretty vague. Ive searched for hours on end for good pictures, but have found nothing.
Does anyone on here, have pictures of how the frontend goes together. IE-bumper, grills, headlight housings, upper metal brace, etc.
Ive got all the parts, (reproduction of course) and a bolt kit. Ive figured out some of the puzzle, but could really use some help.
Welcome to FGF. You are in the right place to get help to put together your large jigsaw puzzle.
You are going to need access to a small library of info. First off I am going to point you in the direction of the Library at the First Gen Site one of our members here put together. You will find scans of most of the factory literature there:
The 1st thing that is most likely to useful to you is the 1967 Supplemental Pontiac Factory Service manual that was put out later in the year for the Firebird. It covers many items unique to the Firebird that were not in the original Pontiac Service Manual or any Camaro info.
You also should get yourself a copy of the 1967 Camaro Factory Assembly Manual. It's filled with the drawings that showed the factory workers how to put 1st Gen F-bodies together. It's the best thing around for the '67 Firebird as nobody has been able to find the Firebird Assembly manual. There is also a '69 Firebird Factory Assembly Manual, but I found the Camaro one to be the most helpful with my '67 Firebird. Both are available through the various repro parts houses or on E-Bay.
Our favorite repro parts houses are Ames Performance Engineering, Performance Years, Classic Industries and perhaps Year One (although I don't use them much anymore).

Thank you very much. Illcheck those sites out and see what I can figure out. The biggest concern is the front grill, headlight, bumper. Kinda on a deadline to get that stuff done.
