Bought a "firebird master cylinder" from them online, received a camaro one that doesn't work. now they wont call me back with the "return #" they require for returns and they only give "store credit" on returns. in the details of the company it sais "camarocentral.com" but they go with firebirdcentral.com also. scammers dont buy from them !!!!!!

anyways beware of the "firebird" parts which may be camaro. That is an ongoing issue with many suppliers...

Even Ames sold out a couple of years back. Service and products haven't been as good as they once were.
Personally, I have had really good results with NPD. But they don't stock as many parts as the other companies.

Agreed, but you know it will fit or be a Pontiac replacement part.

hopefully the companies would learn from this, but i bet they keep calling a camaro m/c equal to a firebird m/c. then your locked in once you buy it because they only offer store credit... we'll see, but yes i agree, local parts then you can compare onsite and not pay for/take it if its wrong...

Guys, firebird central is a new parts supplier. I personally know the owner and he is taking this new business venture very seriously. Who are you communicating with there?

I've also had dealings with Firebird central. I ordered some heater parts which they said they had in stock and then added a dash pull up handle just to fill the box. They would not send by mail. When I finally, three and a half weeks later, got the box the heater parts were back ordered and the handle was the wrong one. It cost me $108 for a $12 pull up handle I can't use. Wouldn't go with them again if they gave me the parts.

Oh no! I was thinking of ordering a master cylinder from firebird central because the add stated "New correct design disc brake master cylinder for 67-69 models. Exact to original size and shape. Features the exact part number "5468309" on the side with bleeders." It's $129 compared to everyone else who is selling for $79. Maybe I should play it safe and go with the $79 part...

I'm doing more research on the original part number. Most of the firebird outlets show the part number as 5468309, but that is a camaro number. Is that correct? I'm showing the original firebird number as either 5472651 or 5463492. Should I not buy a master cylinder with the 5468309 number stamped? Thanks!

If you are looking for functional replacement O'Rielly and Autozone are ok
If you are looking for cosmetically/appearance/NOS-ish replacement, Classic Industries and NAPA.
With NAPA, O'Rielly and Autozone make sure to bring the old. All three have web sites with some times accurate pictures.
For my MC I used an in-correct one from O'Rielly but it had the easy to use in-correct (I think)side bleeder screws

It has been a while but has anyone ordered from these guys recently?
They are the only ones I have seen that have a reproduced hood release assembly. Makes me wonder...

If you are talking about the 67-68 Firebird hood release then there is a reason why. ChicagoLand Muscle cars reproduces this part and he only seels to Firebird Central. I called about it the other day as I am looking for a 1967 hood latch. That is what I was told. The release to me looks like a 68. But I was told by owner of Chicagoland it was tested extensively and will work on a 67. Hope that helps out.

That does help a lot, thanks!
It is arriving tomorrow so once it gets installed I can write up a little something on it.

I forgot there was a issue with these guys. They had a booth at a local swap meet that I was at today and I was going to get a couple of things until I came home and check my inventory spreadsheet. Found out I already had all the part I was considering.
Of course everything there was for a Camaro.

I've bought from them a couple times without incident. I asked for show deliver(POCI last year) one time, the other time had it delivered to my home address.
