Has anyone replaced their steel intake manifold with an Edelbrock Performer (p/n 2156) aluminum intake?
I am putting a Quadrajet carb with a traditional, non-electric choke on it, but am having a difficult time figuring out what heat tube goes in it. The bent tube loop that was on the steel manifold doesn't slip into the aluminum one. Edelbrock's tech said that you just had to rig something up.
Anyone have any experience with this?

That's because the 2156 is set up for the expanding coil style divorced choke - not the heat tube kind.
I went back to E-brock and purchased the Chevy small block expanding coil style choke and bent the actuating rod to make it work right.

No. All I remember is that I tried to adapt my OEM '67 choke (also a bi-metal strip that year) and it expanded in the opposite way that the carb needed.
There is already a raised stud and a threaded hole in the choke hole block-off plate that came with the manifold and it worked perfectly with the small block Chevy choke.
The tricky part was bending the rod to get the right choke movement as it warmed up.

I bought my manifold used. There was no plate. Might have to adapt the heat tube plate. If you wouldn't mind posting a pic, that would be fantastic. Thanks!

E-brock does not list the Pontiac choke block off plate separately, although you may want to try a phone call.
Other than that, it's hot rodding time. Make a cardboard template of the choke opening including the screw holes. Fab up a cover plate out of aluminum stock (maybe 1/8 or 1/4 inch thick), place the chevy choke coil frame on it, mark and tap the screw hole and Voila.
