i am sure this has been talked and discussed before,but let me pick you guy`s brains again. i had a problem with my 69 bird not starting,found out it was the starter (had it checked out)i replaced the starter and the car started fine.i shut the car off and the same problem occurred,would not start.i hooked up a remote start button to the purple wire on the solenoid and to the positive side of battery and it starts.this is the first time this problem has occurred,i have not changed anything from the way the car has been for the last five years including headers installed.HELP!!

When you turn the key does anything happen? Sounds like a starter switch or the wires to-from the switch, if you turned it and nothing happened then started with the remote switch. Maybe disconnect the wire at the solenoid and put a test light on and to ground and turn the key to see if it's getting juice from the starter switch.

Does this occur only when it has previously been running and is hot? Or does it happen always and is not cranking even when cold?

thanks for the help guy`s,it turned out to be the neutral safety switch.starts every time now even when hot.
