You can buy the sender at Rock Auto or probably your local parts store. They used the same ones for many years.

Can't say I blame you if that is a real RA IV TA.

It's real, the small parts like this are harder to find than you would think they would be considering that parts like this would come on any 69 Pontiac that had factory gauges. The R/A IV choke coil and choke pull off were very hard to find.

Very cool, would love to see it sometime. Other than the 69 TA convertible, you have one of the holy grails.

An FGF'er in town just last week replaced his stock '69 one with one that actually worked. Would you be interested in one that needs repair? I can ask him.

Yes,I might be able to have it fixed. There is a guy here in town that restores a lot of Mopar sending units and fast idle solinoids. Thanks

OK, I'll ask him. Where is the date? What if it isn't near Aug. 1969?

It was kinda working. Its an electrical sender. It would read steady no matter what the RPM's were and when it did finally move it jumped up quite a bit on the gauge and would hang up there even at idle. A new sender fixed the problem.

The date should be next to the part number.I'd be interested in getting anything with the right look for now while I keep looking for the date I need.Once it's installed it's hard to see the date and nobody but me should be that close to it anyway.lol.

Hi Andy, I just spoke with him and he said he would like to keep the sending unit and repair it. His is an all original 69 400 / 400 coupe with 70,000 miles. He knows the full car history and the engine and trans have never been out of the car!!! Not too many can say that. It still has some of the original date coded tower clamps (which I always thought were crap, but these ones are hanging on).

Sorry man.

Thanks for trying,If I was your friend I would keep it too.I found one here in town but I have to buy the whole car for 700.00 to get it.The car is a 69 428 Grand Prix thats to nice to part but to expensive to restore, just my luck.

You might want to try throwing a $50 bill to him with a parts store sensor. Tell him you will even swap them out. If I was him, I would jump. No one in their right mind would have an expectation of having a date correct sensor on a $700 car.
