Going through the vehicle and now the Brake light/Hazzard Fuse keeps blowing?? . Items changed, turn signal switch, ignition-wiper-light switches, Brake light switch, all fuses, dash bulbs, rear tail light bulbs, rear side marker lights and bulbs, Removed the complete taillight assemblies to clean the housings and taillight lens. Disconnected the brake light switch, disconnected turn signal harness, pulled rear taillight sockets out and fuse keeps blowing?? Is there a ground that i missed??? The ignition is off. Any and all suggestions please!!
I rewired my 68 and everything was working fine untill I put the interior back in. Fuse kept blowing. Turned out that when I put the drivers side rear panel in, I had run the trim screw just barely into the wiring harness that runs up the wheel well. Somehow the harness had come out from behind the metal retainer hoop.
Thank god I found the problem!!! Well i took out the ignition & light switch and the only other thing i did was pull the gauge cluster. While dropping the steering column and checking the harness under the dash i noticed that the brake light switch wires were stuck and totally crimped in between the steering column clamps. What a relief to me because i stink at electrical.
