The radiator mounts (four of them) are bolted directly to the radiator support. There are rubber isolators between the radiator and the mounts at all 4 locations. Nothing bolts directly to the radiator. Basically the radiator is sandwiched between the upper and lower mounts, cusioned by rubber pads.
I believe the factory mounting was one side bolted up hard and one side cushioned with well nuts, as the firebirdcentral kit shows. That's the way I did mine. There are two large holes on one side of the core support that accept the well nuts.

What keeps the well nut in the rad support, does it just push into the hole and then expand when the bolt is installed? Does the left side kind of float for expansion?
I alsways assumed it was for expansion purposes but there are other manufacturers that hard mount them. But yes the rubber part mushrooms out to retain it.
Being an engineer - I am going to take a stab at why they fix mounted the radiator on one side and flex mounted on the other.
I imagine that the amount of expansion for the copper radiators is pretty dramatic between cold and hot.

The good Dr. is correct, my wife picked up some at home depot yesterday. Part number 127252. I've taken a few pics for rohrt. I just happen to have a few 1/4-20 bolts left over from the X panels that work great.
