Does anyone have a picture of that flat plate with wire around it that gets mounted to the two studs on the back side of the temp. gauge? Or can you tell me if the flate plate runs sideways or up and down? This is the little flat plate behind the printed circuit. To me the flat plate is like a fuseable link or a resistor of some sort.
I picked up a set of Rally gauges that where taken out and partially disassembled and I'm putting them back together for my car and want to make sure I've got it right.
Its called a "shunt" , its a resister to parallel the internal resistor of the coil. it helps provide a steady gauge that doesnt fluctuate with every little voltage change. It should only go on one way it goes across the two terminals for the gauge. i believe it is horizontal.

Thanks for posting! That's how I put it back in (horizontal) and I just wanted to make sure I had it right before I put it in the car later this coming week!
