How should I proceed in the removal of the dash pad on a 67 convertible ?
WITH YOUR HELP !, trying to put back together a factory 1967 convertible 400/TH400, softray glass, pw, ps, pb, ac, console, clock, safeguard speedo, remote and visor mirror(s), hood and trunk lamps, and custom trim options.(Rally II rims and hood tach had been added). THANK YOU ALL for any help, opinions, and/or advice. I'M GONNA NEED IT !
If your interior is otherwise intact, you will have to pull both the glovebox (cardboard) and the instrument carrier (plastic gauge surround) out to get to the front bolts for the pad.
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
Glove box, radio, etc. is out, but cluster isn't. Are all the screw/nut heads visible, or will I have to look or feel for any "hidden" ones ? Thanks,

I believe there are 3 screws at the front edge. Glove box, center dash area, instrument cluster. Yes, feeling for them might be easier unless your seats are out and you can get flat on the floor your head under the dash.

Im thinking about taking my pad off and repainting with an all adhesive paint as the pad shows no signs of cracks, its just faded. Anyone try putting the original back in and are you getting this off without removing the steering column and instrument cluster as illustrated in the 2008 post?
The only way to properly remove the dash requires the speedo cluster come out to access hidden dash pad nuts, that means dropping the steering column to allow clearance for the cluster to come out. You might check into dying the dash rather than an adhesive paint. Be careful not to fill the grain if you paint. I'm sure the language can be intimidating of dropping a steering column and removing a speedo cluster but really it is very simple and only takes a couple minutes.
