In the PIM assembly manual the hood scoops just sit on the hood and then are attached with speed nut on the scoop's mounting studs. I had to thread one of the mounting studs to get a better connection.
I am still getting leakage on a rainy day thru the hood scoops. Is there a gasket for the hood scoop?
I don't think they ever came with gaskets, although hood tachs did. I don't see a seperate part number listed in the assembly manual. An inner bead of silicone works wonders. that stopped mine from leaking (primarily from washing my cr, I don't drive it in the rain)
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Larry , where were you? we were in Gulfport for Cruising the Coast last week... anyway , no gaskets...I added a light bead of silicone too...but it shouldnt be a problem as several of my friends have opened their scoops up....and , no I try not to drive in the rain...but on a long trip its sometimes unavoidable....like Sunday ,coming back on a 7 hr drive from Gulfport , we had a 5 min shower the last 20 minutes of the trip.....coming back from Estes Park 2 yrs ago, we even drove thru a hail storm in north Texas...and rain on the way to Colorado...if you use the car , you will once in awhile get wet.
It sure was nice with the weather, saw to may different cars at the different area. I passed by hewes ave a few different days but didn't see anybody. Was in ocean springs all day fri. wasn't able to get to edgewater mall, but stop by the old va hospital to check out some of the cars. Than made a stop over at Bay st louis for a few hours. Had the top down just enjoying the ride along the coast.
