I am starting the interior of a 67 FB vert now and it is red interior. I don't have seat belts for it and have noticed that all the replacement retractable belts are black. Were all retractable seat belts black? I have a set of black retractor belts I could use but not sure what black seat belts in red interior would look like. Were 67 seat belts even retractable or the old "lay around on the floor" type? EB

'67 front outer belts are retractable. All of the other ones lay around. I believe there was a thread regarding red interior belts earlier this spring. I believe all '67 belt colors matched the interior. But I think I remember some '68's came with black? I kind of remember Jim2002 weighing in on this. His car has a red interior.

I think I am going to start with the black ones and then if some red ones come around I will change later. I was just wanting to know I was not the only one with black ones and red interior. Thanks
With a Camaro red interior, standard belts were black. Deluxe belts were red. Pretty sure Firebird was the same (I think one or two interior colors did use different colored belts though). http://www.camaros.org/seatbelt.shtml#color
Hello, Just weing in. I had a friend of mine looking to do red seat belt on his car. He had gold ones. He disassembled the buckle,pulled the belts out of the retractor and crefully masked the GM tags on the belt. He then got some standard fabric dye and dyed the belts at home. They came out looking perfect! That was 2 years ago and they still look good
