I'm pulling the engine/trans out of my 67 firebird this weekend. Everything is disconnected except the z-bar. I've always had automatics so the manual trans is new to me. How do you remove the z-bar from the engine block?

Should be bolted on the the rear of the block...
if you can get in there from the under side, you should be able to see where it's bolted on?

I haven't had a 4-speed car in many years... but this should be correct?

Take the nut off of the end on the frame side. Then lift it out of the slot and it slides off the engine block stud/ball thing. Then you can unscrew the stud/ball from the block if you need to.
