OK - anyone know what kind of car this came from? I was told it's from a '69, but didn't ask '69 what. Guess I should've. I don't see a WT for Firebirds, but I know WT is a Pontiac code. Thanks! Should I just look up the VIN on the block?
Chilton's shows a WT code for: 1967 V8-400 MT 4BBL 1970 V8-400 AT 2BBL 1971 V8-400 MT 3spd 4BBL Cross reference that with your VIN /date codes and that will give you a better idea of what you have there. If you haven't looked already, here is a good site to visit while looking up various info for that 68 of yours. Enjoy that car, its a beauty. http://1968firebird.org/illustrated/illindex.html for more info
Hey there now, a few Cutlass setups from 68-71 were awesome! My Dad had one that scared the whole neighborhood, right off the assembly line. I was very proud to be his Son, my Mom wanted to kill him for buying it!
Lets give those "Olds" engineers a little respect. I consider them (during that time) distant cousins to the FGF.
'68 428 HO M3 Monster, 4-on-the-floor! Need I say more?
I had 2 '72 Cutlasses with the Rocket 350. You can't mistake those...gold engines with an oil filler pipe. They were torque monsters, as is the Pontiac.
Glad to hear you found a Pontiac under the hood, though!

Yeah, Hemmings Muscle Car mag had a comparison of "big block" engines and what grabbed me was that the Olds engines have a longer stroke than Pontiacs. That surprised me.
