Congrats! Nice of you to check in. There are quite a few Florida members. Where is Spring Hill??

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

Welcome to the state! I'm on the east coast just south of Daytona Beach. If you're ever out this way shoot me an e-mail.

There was a Pontiac engine builder. I think he was south of you in Bradenton. I can't remember his name.

Welcome to FL!

Best move we ever made. After living in 7 states, settling in FL was the best thing ever! Being able to drive your classic all year round does not get any better! People are always quick to point out the heat, hurricanes, bugs etc. but they are usually the ones living in the frozen tundra and have no choice or stuck with a spouse that would never consider moving anywhere other than the place where their parents or kids live etc. LOL I live 20 mins from Creekbob, so like he said, if you make over this way let us know!

The palmetto bug is the official state bird there.

(You have be familiar with the size of those suckers to appreciate that one).

The question is, is it better to shoot them with a bug spray or a 22 hollow point?

We've gotten down to Florida once or twice a year for a few decades now to visit my wife's parents on the West Coast. The last time was between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

At this time of year it's not a hard sell to get us Cannuks to waldle down to Florida to cuddle with the wildlife.
We are about half way thru hibernation...lol cry

After living more than half my life in snow that was a$$ deep to a tall Indian for more than half the year, and cold enough to snow for 9 months out of the year in Buffalo (home of this crappiest weather and worst sports teams in the USA), basically the butt hole of the USA, I'll take the heat and bugs with no complaints. No matter how hot it gets, you NEVER have to shovel it!

In addition, I don't care what anyone says, if you keep your house spotless and keep food in plastic (tupperware) containers, you WILL NOT get those [censored] cockroaches in your house! We have lived here now for over 5 years and NOT ONE in any of the three houses we have lived in. NOT A ONE! My wife is spotless, mops the tiles floors DAILY with bleach and there is NOTHING in the cupboards for them to eat because EVERYTHING is in plastic!

I am a fanatic about bugs, germs etc. so I would never live in a house that had cockroaches in it!!!!! Also, a great secrete that I learned, when you open a wall for repairs or install windows etc. you put a ton of boric acid powder inside the wall on the sill plates, this will almost guarantee you will not get roaches! I did this in our house when we replaced every window in the house, all the doors, any drywall etc. I also did this in our garage all the way around the sill plates where they meet the concrete, anything & everything that was living in the garage is now dead and I haven't seen anything else come in or go out since!

You buy this at Lowes in the plant dept. it comes in huge white plastic squeeze bottles with a pointed tip. Just tip it upside down and squeeze the power out into an area and bingo, those SOBs are toast!
