I've been really busy all summer, and now I'm back overseas in Afghanistan doing computer networking. I did get some stuff done to my car over the summer..mostly the front disc brake swap.
There were some issues with the car not told to me by the P.O...so it's gonna need some body work (new quarters and trunk pan)
I had found a mechanic locally that did work on old ponchos. He was going to pull my engine, do some mechanical work while the engine was pulled. I was also going to have a bunch of body work down and the car repainted. But the mechanic ended up getting out of dealing with old cars...so I'm over here with no mechanic. Need to figure out what to do...
BUT... I found an engine shop locally that is going to build up my 400. Stroke it, clean up the 16 heads...said 450hp on pump gas....$4500.00 But I'm wondering if anyone here has done the LS engine swap? I'm thinking it's going to be a bigger PITA than I want to deal with...
Anyway, Afghanistan is way more boring than it was in Iraq...which could be good or bad...but it's allowing me the $$ to redo the body, etc.
