Non-AC heater box missing & trying to reassemble another. Controls still there, but the cables cut. Purchased the Camaro heater control cables from Classic Industries 69. Their link brings up the Camaro cables. They require opening up the cable eyelets in order to slip over the posts of the heater control assembly. Two of the cables are the same size and one is much longer. Does anyone know what is the longest cable for? I think it is for the temperature control. Also, of the two smaller cables one has a plastic tab. I am not sure how this attaches or what side it goes on (control or box side). Last, I am looking for a photo of how the "Temperature Control" cable attached to the box. Can anyone post a photo? Thank You.
If you have the box and the control panel out so you can look at them a good long look should tell you which control goes to which system. One will operate a door to open and shut for the defroster. One will open the door to allow ouside air to blow by the core as it brings heat into the pass comp. One will do something else that I can't think of right now but if you look at where the cable hooks up to the box, and which operation it does, it should be pretty apparent what cable goes where. It might be a little tougher laying on your back under the dash but not impossible.
Page 45 of the 69 Camaro factory Assemble manual shows a good picture how that is connected. You might look at it. if you don't have one, one of our members has made it available.
