Well finally got my exhaust for my car. 2.5" kit from R.A.R.E and the tailpipes look odd to me.... Can anyone post a couple pics of theirs or some kind of idea how they go in? Do I have to cut the pipes to get my exit out the vehicle? Done a dry fit on the floor and they just don't look right. Thanks in advance. Joe
Does this help? I would have liked them showing out the bottom a little more. We had to score the RARE pipes a bit, bend and re-weld mostly because we have a GTO drive shaft which is bigger in diameter than the Firebirds. With a vert the fit is real tight under the x-brace. Not sure why Pontiac had different diameter drive shafts while using the same engine... maybe wheel base differences?
that helps!!! Did you get the tips with your exhaust? I wanted the single dump behind the wheel. But the way it looks is it needs an extension or tips.
Don't know if the original title is really the question...
but, yes, Pypes makes nice splitters. I have a set on my car. They fit like the ones in Doug's photo.

Guess there was some lost info when I talked to Paul at R.A.R.E. because I wanted the pypes exhaust without the mufflers but got the rare exhaust kit. The tailpipe kit is a trim to fit exit pipe. Soooo..... Thus the reason for the initial post then talked to Paul and figured out what I received. Joe
I bought a set of Pypes tips off EBay in 2006 when I installed a 2.5 inch system...not pypes ,just fabricated ay Meineke...H pipe , two flowmaster 40 and these tips
I really like the way a Pontiac sounds through flowmaster mufflers!!!!! This exhaust system is getting expensive! If I get the tips I will have blown by the $1000 dollar mark. SIGH

I spent $525 on my entire exh system , mufflers, pipes ,tips H pipe...of course thats now 7 , 8 yrs ago... I love that sound , and when I changed heads to the 5Cs w larger valves ,sound changed also.
Sounds about right then. You could spend nearly that for the LBs alone by the time you have them ceramic coated and buy the stainless hardware and the good angled adapt for the oil filter. All of that and I think you're around $900 and you haven't even started on pipes yet. You didn't believe them when they said it was going to cheap, did you?
Depends on "who" is telling you it is cheap huh??? lol. Already had the oil filter adapter on the motor. Hardware for LB mans. came with them, R.A.R.E. ebay auction. Just picked up POR 15 manifold grey paint instead of ceramic coat. JOE
