Anyone have a 69 Firebird 400 having a stock Rochester 4 barrel carb with a 2004R tranny installed? I am trying to figure out how and where to attach the TV Cable to the Carb. I have what I need as far as the TV cable and bracket, but am lost as to how to set it up on the stock 69 Q-Jet throttle lever. Someone told me I would need to swap out the carb throttle shaft for a 68 350 carb. Sounds a little jimmy rigged to me. So what I am really asking is, has anyone done this, setting up the TV cable on the stock Rochester for my same year/vehicle? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated also... thanks all.

If nobody here has pics I know a couple guys that run that setup that I can probably get some pics from. Might take a few days.

I went with this bracket & then used a Chevy throttle linkage with a TV cable setup from Bowtie Overdrives. http://www.precisionspecialists.com/Look under quadrajet.

Thanks Brian, but my question to you is, do you have a 1969 Q jet? The original question applies to a Q jet for 69. The q jet for a later model comes with a curved arm on the carb throttle arm. I have the brackets already, but am trying to figure out what to hook it to on the carb that I have. If you do have an original q jet, can you post some pics of the set up? Appreciate the help man.

Sorry I have a 1976 Q jet. The issue your going to have is being sure to have the correct radius geometry for the TV cable. Look at the Bowtie Overdrive site & look at their TV made EZ section to give you an idea of how they make the tv cable work.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Brian, I may have to change out the carb throttle shaft for a later one like yours to make it work, but will give it a shot with what I have and see if I can drill a hole in the 69 throttle arm adapter to make it work.
