Would the 1969 firebird Assembly Manual help putting my 1968 firebird back together or would a 1968 camera assembly manual be better?
I have the 68 service manual and body manual but I've found some things not listed in either of them.
I also have the Chilton's Repair & Tune-Up Guide and just ordered the Chilton's Total Car Care Repair Manual hoping that it gives better step by step guidence.
I've never seen an assembly manual. Can't comment on whether it would help. Probably couldn't hurt. But the fact that you're taking the car apart should make it easier...the factory workers didn't have that benefit of starting with a whole car, so they needed a manual to tell them how to build one. Maybe you don't need one? I never have...but everyone is different.
Use a camera and take good notes. Torque values for bolts should all be in the service & body manuals you already have.
What info have you found that is missing? People here can likely fill holes or answer questions.
Chiltons and Haynes manuals are good for toilet paper in a pinch, and maybe packing material. Little else. Expect nothing of value with those books.

I suggest both. You will have quite a nice library after you are done.

Do you mean the service manual and the fisher body Manual? I always thought the 68 firebird was closer to the 67 firebird than the 69 firebird. Both those books and the chiltons are very valuable info. They have got me through a lot of jams when. If you go with a 67 manual remember the firebird had a supplement edition in 67
Does anyone make one (69 assembly manual) that is legible.
I just bought one but I'm taking it back because about half of the pages look like the toner ran out of the copier. Just wonder if the PDF version or dvd/cd version is complete.
