Blew up my fan shroud, fan blades and stock radiator tonight. I just had the radiator repaired.Lookking for any suggestions on what to do next.Electric fan and alum. radiator and who makes the best shroud, should I stay with the stock 7 blade fan with the stock radiator? I think the fan came in contact with the shroud.Help Please.
Sorry about your breakage. I'd stay with the stock stuff if you can get it with-out waiting forever and paying a fortune for it.
I have an aluminium Northern Radiator in mine and twin Spal fans and aluminium shroud from Universal Parts [866-730-7169] that combo works well for my car [500hp] but I live in Canada not Texas, It doesn't get 100 deg. here very often.
The fans and shroud were on the car when I bought it, I don't think I would take out good stock stuff and replace it with what I've got but if I blew everything up like you did I just might.
You might want to start with checking out your motor mounts. Bad mounts can allow enough engine movement to allow a fan to contact a shroud when there is plenty of clearance otherwise.

I agree with stock items which they were before this mishap.Non a/c car with 350 auto with vintange air installed, stock 7 blade fan with fan clutch, stock radiator for a non a/c car ( is there a diffrent radiator for a/c and non a/c cars?.Car has new motor mounts, not to say new is always good as we all know.Would like to fine a stock radiator but not sure that would be possible.Searching all options from all you you guys with alot more knowledge with these Birds then I have. Thanks for you quick replies.Very sad this happened, car is very close to being on the road after a near 4 year rotissery restor.
As Salmon38 suggested try to ascertain the reason for the damage. You wouldn't want to put it all back together to have it "blow up" again. How's the water pump? Did the fan clutch come apart?
Fan clutch is ok,fan was destroyed was a used fan.Water pump shaft is bent.Reason for the picture was I assembled the Alum. spacer that was on my 4 blade stock fan and maybe I should have left that off.May have been to much mass on the fan end and when I raised rpms wala Big Bang. Not sure how far the fan needs to enter the fan shroud.
Rule of thumb on fan spacing into shroud is approximately halfway (1/2 depth of fan blades)
