I accidently punctured my radiator, and my old one was pretty clogged up anyway. I have a 67bird with a 400 engine. TH400 tranny.
I am going to replace it with a new 3 core copper one. I want one that will just bolt right up. I have a few questions...
Are all first gen bird radiators the same size???
Are camaro radiators the same size? I'm guessing that these cars are the 21" radiators? Is there a difference between auto/manual radiators? I have an external tranny oil cooler on my current radiator.
either one of the three will "work", the radiator i just took off of mine was a three core with a 23 inch core and had a 29 1/2 space between the two mounting holes on the radiator. if you look at the radiator core support it has two set of mounting holes on the drivers side and just one set on the pass side. so the long and short of it is you can use either one as long as the mounting holes aline up with the core support. i would look for a four core 23 inch. just my .02 good luck jerry
I dont know if your interested but I just pulled my copper radiator, its like 3-4 years old with less than 500 miles of driving. I relpaced it with an aluminum. There were no problems and no leaks, it is a 23". I will check to see if it is 3 or 4 core. PM me if your interested.
And yes all first gen Firebird and Camaro rediators will fit.
