Hello, i am new to your forum so thanks for taking the time to read this. I have a 67 convertible and the passenger rear window crank does not slide the window up without me lifting the back end of the window throughout the process. I took off the interior skin and the crank assembly is behind the body frame. It looks like I can remove some bolts to get to the assembly but I was wondering if any of you had a similar experience with this. Couldn't be off track so should I consider buying a new one
Hi and welcome. If you are mechanically inclined enough to get the seat out and the trim off then you can handle this. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the window regulator in and remove it. clean it well and inspect the gear teeth and roller on the end of the arm. Often the plastic wheel is broken or missing. If it seems ok then grease all moving parts and put it aside. The next thing is the window track, the three nuts must be removed without turning the screw like shafts that they attach to. Push the lower shaft in and the other two can slide down their slots allowing you to lift the window out and then remove the track assembly. clean and inspect the rollers and track and grease all moving parts. You may be able to buy new rollers if they are damaged, I got mine from a damaged front regulator that I replaced. If all is ok then re-assemble. Have fun! Oh forgot, convertible , sealed cover to remove first as well.
