Finally was able to get into my steering column this weekend and previous owner had no contact to the copper horn switch. Since I picked up another 69-74 horn pad ( my wheel was replaced with a 69-74 three spoke, but the horn pad had a cigarette burn in the center AND it was missing the contact and spring...my replacement pad had the proper wiring ) I connected the contacts and success! My horn relay clicks when I press the pads
Now my horn isnt sounding. I connected my test light to the horn lead and when you press the horn it lights up
This car came with dual horns, but previous owner put in a painless wiring kit and only has (or he chopped the other one off) one wire lead for the horn I went ahead and soaked the insides of the horns with WD40 and cleaned the contact point. I figure sometime this week when I get out in the garage, I will put the horn back on. Both horns were bolted to the hood latch support, but I keep seeing they were mounted to the radiator support. If so can someone get me a photo of where they go, and how can I get a good ground? I am going to put a star washer with the bolt, but should I remove the paint (yes, painted the horn brackets and hood latch support) from these areas?
Thinking BOTH horns are roached Did the WD-40 soak and smacked then with a hammer a few times Cleaned all surfaces and even used star washers Nothing.... Eh, Probably just go aftermarker
