cruisin at about 70 and it suddenly died. no 12 volts at the distributor. does anyone have any ideas on a cause. wire harnesss has been hacked up by previous owner, so i'm not sure if it's the original wire. i've never seen this happen before.

What distributor, points, HEI? The module of an HEI will fail, just like a switch was turned off.

Module would be my quess. Oreils check them. That why I went MSD ignition box.
