I bought the oer weatherstrip kit from classic industeries. I have installed the trunk seal and it is to thick I have to slam the trunk to get it to shut and it is not letting the trunk go down so it is flush.I have also installed the door weatherstripping and it is to tight the drivers door won't shut.Is there any tricks to make them fit or is there another brand that fits better? Thanks Robert
I had issues as well and eventually with time it became easier. The door issue is kinda worrisome though I would call classic and tell them if nothing else let them know how you feel! I just got my latest catalogue a few weeks ago with even higher prices!!!

I have oer seals and emblems except for doors and trunk. the only oer parts that were ok were the emblems. Everything else was junk. the door and upper glass seals are "SuperSoft" brand and seem ok so far.
I tried OER and could not close my doors...trunk had to slam, they lasted about 3-4 days and put the soft seal ones on...no problems. Last OER part I will buy...cost me 98 bucks and I threw them away as Classic would not refund money after they had been installed.
That was the last order I made from those bandits.

I`ve had several OER parts that fit bad...I bought some that work well, but if I recall correctly they were parts that needed no snug fit....the OER windshield pillar moldings I bought from NPD , I sent back....poor quality , bad fit and they were not even opposite match.
door opening/door sills they can make pretty well....lol
Try Pete at www.fbodywarehouse.com He really cares about the parts that he sells. He does not have a lot of items for 1st gen yet but is adding parts on a regular basis. The weather stripping that he sells is the Metro brand. All prices include shipping so there are no surprises.
Robert, Thanks for the link!!! First time I heard of this place but what I really liked is that he had links to a lot of "How To" videos on his website, haven't looked at them yet but I am sure those could be helpful

Most of the links are going to be for second gen Firebirds and Camaros. What I like the most is Pete the owner knows about all of the parts that he sells.
