The body shop is ready to address the issue of brakes. Disc vs power assist. any suggestions?
I do want to upgrade the brake system, since I never thought any of my Firebirds (past and presently owned) stopped very well.

Most on this site seems to lean toward Master Power's disc brake set-up. Most order it from Matt's Classic Bowties.

I have the factory Manual frt. disc and have no problems stopping.

The 4 wheel manual drums on f/g/f cars stop the car well. The thing is that you have to know how to adjust them, something that has always been a problem.

Talk to Sixstarved (Scott), he is the guru of all things brake...

stick to factory style parts unless you race. If you dont like to push, use a power booster if you go to discs.
if yo plan on driving a lot in highway traffic, get discs IMO.
do lots of research.

thanks for the advise. Went to see my car today and it's coming along great. I'm having the engine rebuilt now, and transmission looked at. Vikki, I'm hoping I can get two spaces for the Woodward cruise. I just had the body shop owner over to quote out my other Firebird. I think I'm just gonna go for it and get that one done too. what a tough decision, but I've got the interior torn out of it and it's just sitting there taking up space. He said he might be able to have it done by august. Decisions, decisions...
