I have a 67 with mono leaf rear suspension. Is it a direct bolt in to replace with a multi leaf springs, or are there brackets that must first be acquired and installed?
you need multi leaf brackets ...theres a kit available from Classic industries for $69.95 or you may try Terry Ritter for a used set... youjincho@prodigy.net or (954) 721-1459
Brent, contact Eaton Springs, I hear they are very helpful, and have everything you need, be it a whole set up or jusst the new spring pearches etc...
By the way, where in the Bay Area are you? There are quite a few in the area, and there is a Bay Area Firebirds group run by Hugo in Santa Clara. I'm from Burlingame myself, ans started with a 67, and now once again have a 67!
Thank you both for the information, it will indeed help. Brett, we were in Belmont but are in Hayward now, Just bought a home here. Thanks for the BAFB link. Hopefully we can finish this project and meet some local FGF owners. This was a project I started two years ago and is now close to roadwothy. Brent
Firebob, on the list here is up your way... Hugo and many of the guys seem to be in the South Bay. But obviously they get together for events like the Pleasanton shows etc... And one on Bob's friends just bought a 69 Firebird, so there is another one in the North/East Bay. Yes, good to have a local network also!
Good luck and let us know what you end up with on the springs!
