Has anyone purchased an HEI vacuum advanced canister where the end that you attach the vacuum hose to is bent at a 90 degree angle? I need a new canister that will not hit my head or firewall when adjusting the timing. I may try trimming or modifying the end in order to attach a 90 degree elbow. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I use one with a 90 inlet. I think I pulled off a chevy. Been along time ago so I don't remember which one. And I don't know what the vac limits are but it works for me.

I bent mine for clearance, couldn't get 90 but about 70 worked.

How did you bend it?

I put a wire inside and a hose on the outside so it wouldn't kink, placed a round file beside it and used pliers to bend it around the file. Had a bit of a time getting the wire out. Not pretty but works.

Seth, post a pic if you can. Where did you get the 90 degree elbow and is it made of rubber?

I will try an get a pick.... The elbow is made fro, rubber and I got it at AutoZone, a auto parts franchise by me here in NJ...

That is similar to what I got. I bought a package of assorted sized pieces like that

I had to trim both the elbow and the nipple on the advance to get a perfect fit
