Well, I have decided to sell my 67 convertible. I am ready for a new project and am planning on buying a 67 Ford Fairlane GT. Unfortunately, I have to let one go to get another and the Firebird's time is up. Car is listed on Craigslist and is located in the Los Angeles area. Here is the add:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/4027422259.html

I am sad to let it go, but am excited to start a new project. Thanks to this website and all of the members during my restoration of this car! I have not been on the site in a while but I was on quite a bit when I was doing the restoration and for a while after.

$30??? Hell I'll give you $100 and you can keep the change. Seriously that's a sharp car.

I'm currently trying to finish up my 65 Mustang so I can sell it and start my Firebird.

But, the Fairlane GT's are nice too. Do you have your eyes on a 289 or 390? An S code would be really nice!

Thanks for the compliments on the bird... It has been a labor of love and taken and while to get it this way, but I have enjoyed it.

The 67 Fairlane I am getting is a true S code car. It is a GT with a 390 and 4 speed. It is not numbers matching, but the body and paint is already done. It just needs some interior work and a few little things here and there to make it show quality. I have always loved the 66 and 67 Fairlanes, so going this route makes total sense for me.

The Fairlanes had some great color combinations for their cars. The matching GT stripes/interior always provides the perfect contrast with the body color.

Have fun with the car. Hope to see you around at the shows.

The bird is also listed on eBay here:

...and I am considering reasonable offers for the car.

Figured I would ask on this site as this is where all the bird experts reside. What do you guys feel is a realistic asking price for my car? I put it at 30k knowing that was probably a bit high, but you always start high and go from there. I know it is impossible to tell unless you inspect the car in person, but based on my honest listing of the car, what do you guys think is a realistic number?

I have a number in my head that I know is my bottom line and what I have to at least get for the car, but I would like some input from those here as to what you think it might be worth so I can compare my number.

Thanks in advance!!

Rich,

I would say 30k for your car is right in there. I'd have to say $28k would be too low, and you may get upwards of $32 or more. Plan on this taking a while though. It's a tough market right now. Your car is way nicer than my '67 was last fall when I sold it, and mine sold for not too far below that range. You should also have more takers on the west coast that I did in the Midwest. Try putting a craigslist ad in the Bay Area and San Diego. Good Luck!

Thanks for the input. I dropped the price to $29k obo right now as the economy is a bit tough. I know what I have into the car and I know what I need to get out of it. I have had a couple of nibbles so far and a few offers, but so far, every one of them is too low (some, ridiculously low) and I am not in a major rush to sell. Anyway, I will just see how it goes. And thank you for the San Diego and San Fran listing suggestion. I had not thought of that and only had it listed in LA. I now have it listed elsewhere.

My bird is now sold as of today and will be picked up next weekend headed for Washington. I have told the new owner about this site and hopefully he will enjoy this site as much as I have.

Thank you to all of you who have helped me over the years, whether you knew it or not. This site was a wealth of information during the restoration of my car and pretty much where I learned everything there was to know about my car.

Sad to see another one sold. But happy if we get another new member here. You did a great job on your '67. You should be proud of it!
