It leaks when it sits. I think I identified the leak coming from the o-ring at the filler tube, which I replaced. I thought that fixed it but no. My question is whether the fluid level is supposed to be above that o-ring joint. I'm wondering if the fluid is supposed to be staying in the torque converter but due to internal seal or other issues it is draining back into the pan. I wouldn't think they'd design a crappy o-ring seal at the oil filler tube that is intended to be below the level of the fluid.
As a suggestion if you hadn't done it already check the rear seal. I had my trans totally gone thru. Worked like a million bucks. A month after I had it home it started to leak. It was coming from the rear main seal. Don't know why. Replaced the seal again with a new one. Leaked stopped and it's been two months now. I've had no problems with the dip stick o ring or front seal etc...
