What is going on with my Zbar and engine ball stud. I but the 68 block in and now I have shrinkage!

Does anyone know how long the 68 engine ball stud is suppose to be and the Zbar. I think I have the right one but how knows.

I think the cheby one is shorter. I have one of both. If I ever get a day when I don't haver to go to work I'll measure them both but just so you know there is a short version and a longer one. Looks like you may have the shorter one. I may have an extra as I bought a couple last time I had the chance.

FYI. This same setup was on my 1970 block that I took out and replaced with the correct 1968 block.

Got the new engine ball stud in. Much better now.

Harold, looks good. What do you have the return spring attached to? I can't find anywhere to attach mine, the original bracket may have been removed when the headers went on.

Yes there is a little bracket. You can see it in this detail photo.
