Yes, dove grey for the wheel itself. It's almost more of a light tan than a grey though. Canister looks to be second gen. Probably mid '70's rather than early 70's.

I would never in a million years count on one of those as a spare. They are only eye candy these days...

Who cares about the ability of it working as a spare. I wouldn't want the tire blowing up in my face. You have got to have some big gonads to inflate a 45 year old piece of rubber.

Well that one(the spare) doesn't appear to be tan or gray. I had always thought they were gray as well.
I took the pictures recently since the spare and parts had not been out of the car for more than seven years. The yellow colored sticker is factory and was close to coming off on its own from drying out.
