Does anyone know if this "Keep Your Gm Car All Gm" decal is suppose to be on a 400 air cleaner?

Hmm, I have not seen that decal on a few original cars that I know about, but that doesn't mean it is not supposed to be there. I only thought the "stencil" or "stencil decal (repo) was supposed to be on there.

I have only ever seen that sticker on one '68 in the past 20 odd years. (from my reccolection it was a 350 car). I looked at my original 400, and there are no signs of any kind of sticker or sticker residue anywhere on it. It still has its original paint.

Wovenweb, is there a link to info regarding your answer?

I have the book Original Pontiac Firebird and Trans AM 1967-2002 by Jim Schield. Dated 2007.

Page 38 shows a 68 sprint that has it
Page 41 shows two 69 350's that have it.

Those were the only two pages that showed a 68 or 69 engine compartments.

I have another book at home that I'll look at and see if it mentions anything about the decals.

I just checked my illustrated restoration guide by Joe More

It states on page 65 it was used on 68-69 air cleaners. On page 62 it shows a picture of one.

I know we cannot take these restoration books as gospel.

i just looked at our 2 breathers. one was out of the 69 bird, the other out of a 69 custom s. neither has any evidence of that sticker. both still have the "PP" decals
