Hmm, I have not seen that decal on a few original cars that I know about, but that doesn't mean it is not supposed to be there. I only thought the "stencil" or "stencil decal (repo) was supposed to be on there.
I have only ever seen that sticker on one '68 in the past 20 odd years. (from my reccolection it was a 350 car). I looked at my original 400, and there are no signs of any kind of sticker or sticker residue anywhere on it. It still has its original paint.

FWIW, I wasn't sure so I stuck one on my air cleaner.

Jim Osborn Reproductions(as shown in the book) produces reproductions of the sticker. So, they have a vested interest in it being "there".

i just looked at our 2 breathers. one was out of the 69 bird, the other out of a 69 custom s. neither has any evidence of that sticker. both still have the "PP" decals
